Witness description:
“On January 5th, 2019 at 7 pm, my girlfriend and I were out on my 2nd story balcony in Scottsdale, near Hayden and Thomas Rd., looking East towards Mesa. I was making a call when my GF pointed out the two lights as they appeared, it was a clear night and the lights were very visible to the naked eye. The picture and video I took are not as clear as what we could see. The 3rd witness was someone I know who saw them from their home and was not with us. I found out after he responded to a Facebook post and said what he saw from another vantage point.
The lights looked like a sphere with 4 small balls of light pulsing out from the center. The two lights moved slowly up and down. They got close to one another and then moved away from one another, just hovering in the same area.
After about a minute 3 more appeared and formed what looked like the big dipper constellation. Then they moved to form an arrow or possibly a diamond-shaped which reminded me of the Orion Belt constellation. Then another light floated up from behind the tree and joined the other 5.
I tried to zoom in with my camera and since it was so dark out the lights blurred under the magnification. I was able to get some clear footage and a picture that has the two lights and an airplane in the lower part of the picture. The video also shows what an airplane looks like with the lights in the sky.”
