extend the history to millions of years ago!
The first tangible link to humanity started around six million years ago with a primate
group called Ardipithecus. This started in Africa when this group began the path of

The Australopithecus group dominated between about two million and four million years
ago, with the ability to walk upright and climb trees. Next came Paranthropus, which

The Homo group, which covers our own Homo sapiens species, began arising more
