Earth As Seen From Saturn!




The Day the Earth Smiled: It’s an iconic photograph of the Earth, as seen from Saturn by the Cassini space probe. The picture was taken on 19th July 2013 when the Earth was 1.44 billion km away. This was only the third time the Earth was imaged from the outer solar system. However, it marked the first time that inhabitants of Earth knew in advance that their planet was being imaged. That opportunity allowed people worldwide to join together in social events to celebrate the occasion. So that’s what seven billion people, five oceans, seven continents, billions of animal species, and trillions of trees look like from space: a tiny little dot.
