Extraterrestrial surface simulation lab launches new chapter in Australian space research

The University of Adelaide’s new Exterres (Extraterrestrial Environmental Simulation) Laboratory is now open, providing the Australian space sector with the country’s first accurate lunar and martian surface simulation environment. The facility will help experts to develop mission-ready space technology, including rovers, off-Earth construction tools and methods, and other equipment. It will also play a pivotal role in helping to inspire and empower Australia’s future space workforce.
