Dr Stephen Hughes is a Senior Lecturer at QUT’s Science and Engineering Faculty. Stephen has a special interest in physics and astrophysics, other physical sciences, biomedical engineering, curriculum and explaining scientific phenomena to the general public. He talks about some of the myths surrounding UFOs and strange astronomical sightings. In particular, he describes his research into the green fireball seen over Brisbane’s CBD in May 2006 and explains the science behind green fireballs and ball lightning.
