What is the story behind the giants of Afghanistan, and how US soldiers confronted these giants? Stay with us until the very end to learn all of the strange stories that surround these gigantic creatures!
Giants loom large throughout world mythology, often representing the most threatening of foes. Their enormous size quickly conjures up images of superhuman strength and formidable abilities, yet in many legends, the giant is a tragic figure who often dies in an improbable manner. In several Indo-European mythologies, giant peoples are shown as primal beings linked with chaos and the chaotic nature, and they are typically at odds with the gods, whether Olympian, Celtic, Hindu, or Norse. Giants also frequently appear in the mythology and folklore of non-Indo-European peoples, such as the Nartian tales. There are also accounts of giants in the Old Testament. Some of these are referred to as Nephilim (first referenced in Genesis 7:23), a word that is sometimes translated as giant, though this translation is not universally accepted. The Nephilim are mentioned for the first time in Genesis 6:4; they are described as having exceptional strength and physical proportions.
